My story
My name is Rayyan Benotmane, I’m 21, and my journey in the world of audiovisual production began long before I ever imagined turning it into a career.
Back in middle school, I was already creating without really knowing why. I edited my friends’ photos, made videos, edited projects, designed logos and thumbnails…
I experimented, started over, and learned along the way. I didn’t have the right words for it yet, but I already had this deep desire to turn an idea into something tangible.
At 14, an internship at the Complexe Culturel de l’Angelarde in Châtellerault introduced me to the behind-the-scenes world of live events and gave this passion a whole new dimension.
Then, in high school, I joined Foxskied Production, where I discovered just how broad the audiovisual world really is: filming, editing, sound, 3D, short films, weddings…
I learned not to limit myself to a single skill, but to understand how every element can contribute to telling a story.
My journey then took me to Prisme Éclairage, TEDELEC and Grenouilles Productions, where I had the opportunity to work on festivals, sporting events, audiovisual installations, interviews and productions.
Alongside all of this, I got into beatmaking. I didn’t have the best equipment, but I had plenty of curiosity. It taught me to figure things out on my own, experiment, and keep improving without waiting for perfect conditions.
Then I made a decision that would go far beyond my professional life: I moved to Malta alone for seven months through the EMVOLPRO international program.
At Marcsello Pictures, where I worked as a production assistant, I discovered a new environment, new responsibilities and a different way of working. I contributed to a wide range of projects, including TV productions such as Miss Malta and Malta Ultimate Tattoo Challenge.
More importantly, the experience taught me to step outside my comfort zone, take responsibility, and trust my ability to adapt.
Today, my journey is undeniably a little unconventional.
It has been shaped by experimentation, unexpected turns, mistakes, and every opportunity I’ve had to learn.
And through all of these experiences, one thing has never changed:
I love creating.
Creating to tell stories, communicate, spark emotions, and give an idea its own identity.
That’s what made me start, and it’s still what drives me forward today.
